A supposed scan of a Toys R Us ad indicates a new Pokemon X and Y sale is on the horizon. The ad, courtesy of a GoNintendo tipster, states that new 3DS XL or 2DS buyers who additionally pick up one of six games and register their gear on Club Nintendo in March will receive a download code for Pokemon X or Y. The six eligible games buyers may be picking from are Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Yoshi's New Island, Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins, Super Mario 3D Land, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Mario Kart 7. As it stands now, there's no confirmation of the deal on either Club Nintendo or Toys R Us' sites. We've reached out to Nintendo for formation and will update as we learn more

"Growing up in the 90s, Donkey Kong Country from Rareware was revolutionary for its time with pre-rendered 3D graphics on the Super Nintendo. In comparison to other platformers like Super Mario World, it was absolutely incredible.. After three very successful entries in the 16-bit era, as well as some Game Boy entries, the series moved to the Nintendo 64 with Donkey Kong 64, though it was very different from the past games. When Microsoft bought Rare, many were worried that we may never see a return to this classic series, but luckily that was not the case as Retro Studios released the very well received Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Nintendo Wii back in 2010. Last year, many were surprised to learn that Retro Studios was bringing Donkey Kong Country to the HD age with a sequel known as Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze." -JPS

Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii brought back great memories of playing this classic series on the Super Nintendo. Tropical Freeze for the Wii U expands upon the fun of the 2010 game. A new group of baddies, the Snowmads, have taken over the island ­ and ruining Donkey Kong's birthday in the process. But our heroes aren't having any of that, and it's up to them to take back their home. The plot is similar to the Tiki takeover in Returns.

GA - "Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a fantastic return to the world originally created by Rare on the Super Nintendo, which was then brought back to life by the development team at Retro Studios on the Wii in 2010. Like most, I was a bit disappointed to learn that the first Wii U title by Retro would be a sequel to Donkey Kong Country Returns, but that disappointment was quickly replaced by eager anticipation fueled by the fact that Donkey Kong Country Returns was one of my favorite titles for the Wii."

Hard to believe its been three and an half years since Donkey Kong Country Returns landed on the Wii. As gorgeous as DKCRs 60 frames per second presentation was, it was screaming for a platform that could handle something north of 480p. And hence, in all its 720p glory, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was born, adhering closely to the very same principles that made DKC2 for the SNES a success in the wake of its classic predecessor.
